Sylvia’s Photography has been documenting weddings in a journalistic manner for more than a decade.
Jeff Smith and Sylvia Steininger have photographed weddings across the country and around the world, always with the aspiration to create images that are more than beautiful. Their goal is to convey the essence of the celebration, the people, their emotions and the surroundings.

A key to Sylvia and Jeff’s success is their talent for anticipating moments before they happen. Drawing from their years of photographic experience, a deep knowledge of wedding tradition and most importantly an understanding of the couple, they are able to anticipate those fleeting moments and capture them forever.

Soon after emigrating from Austria in 1990, Sylvia discovered that documenting human emotions and interactions is her passion. She apprenticed at several large studios giving her the skills to establish a successful and reputable studio.

Jeff brings with him a diverse photographic background and wealth of experience. Educated as a photojournalist, he broke into the business of photographing weddings for a major Los Angeles studio. He has also worked in aerial and food photography and is a qualified Master Quality Printer.

Sylvia and Jeff’s influence on each other have contributed to the continued success of Sylvia’s Photography.

Influenced by the work of photographers such as Steve McCurry, Diane Arbus, Dorothea Lange, and
Henri Cartier-Bresson, it has always been the couple’s desire to capture something more authentic and personal.
That desire is the foundation of their studio.
